TULL FAMILY

In 1956 Mr. Edward R. TULL completed his extensive research work on
his TULL FAMILY and documented his work in a written manuscript.
His manuscript was never "published" but copies have been
passed around for many years. His work is very well documented and will provide
assistance to many Tull researchers.
The TULL
ON-LINE RESEARCH GROUP is very
proud to provide
the complete
manuscript written by
Mr. Edward Rountree TULL, Jr.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
GLADYS FORBES RICHEY
1916-1992
I must recognize
the significant contribution of an individual that spent nearly all her life in
the pursuit of TULL Family documentation and is largely responsible for
making research much easier for the rest of the TULL researchers. Gladys Mae Forbes Richey, whose grandmother was Rutha
Jane Tull, was known by me only through her extensive letters and written
documentation. I was fortunate to have paid my respects at her Grave in the
Windsor Cemetery. She was an example of the sharing compassionate genealogist
that we all aspire to become. The following documentation was written by
Gladys. A collection of her TULL work will be presented on the web page
dedicated to her work at http://www.juch.net/gfrichey.htm.

As best is known Richard & Thomas TULL
(cousins or brothers?) settled in the Manokin area of Somerset County, MD. This
area became known as Tull's Corner. Col. Woodrow T. Wilson wrote about Tull's
Corner in a published book "Quindocqua Maryland, Indian Country". An
excerpt is presented as a benefit to those Tull researchers only and not to be
reproduced for sale or profit. This printing of the excerpt is according to the
Forward in Col. Wilson's book which reads in part "
books were privately
printed and distributed on a non-profit basis for historical and educational
purposes rather than for any financial gain for the author".

GEDCOM DOWNLOADS
There are three
possible gedcom downloads for those interested in obtaining a copy of the TULL
files I maintain. CAUTION ! I
cannot certify these files as 100% correct nor are they all proven.
These files are a compilation of what the various TULL Family researchers have
shared with me. I check them for reasonableness and assume that those
submitting their TULL file are correct for their direct
line. These files are strictly a depository for TULL documentation and can aid
in research by providing research leads & possible direction. These files
are very large and depending upon your connection speed the download may take a
significant amount of time. Please
be patient! Good luck!

FAMILY
NUMBER TEN
Unknown Tull family as
follows:
1 TULL, Unknown
.. +NOBLE, Mary Martha b: 16 Apr 1795 in MD m:
Abt. 1813 d: 08 May 1884 Burial: Hillcrest Cem., Canton, Van
Zandt Co., TX
Note:
When Mary Martha
Noble came to Van Zandt County Texas in 1870, she was a widow. Even in 1840 on
the Hardeman County Tennessee Census she was probably a widow because she lived
with her son, Ervin. There is no evidence that the father of her son ,
George Washington Tull, was ever in Texas.
